Personal Canvas Collage

 I asked a friend of mine what her favorite verse is and she said it is Philippians 4:13.  I also asked her what hymn is her favorite, and she replied: "Great is Thy Faithfulness." That hymn is beneath the black paint, although it is hard to see...

My friend also recently re-decorated using a lot of distressed black.
Today is her birthday and this is for her! :)

T-shirt design: owl

I got to play with my mom's embroidery machine! Before I chose the fabrics (all scraps--woohoo for thriftiness/recycling), I designed it first, of course, with pencil...

...then used the applique feature on the embroidery machine, onto the smaller fabric. I then hand-stitched that onto the shirt and hand-sewed the buttons (flowers have buttons as well as the eyes).

Just for fun today, because I can't resist a nice pack of decorative papers. I've got it up with my fall decor! favorite season.

It was so nice to see you again, Messy Paint Palette!

I spent some time working with real paint! (I have been working entirely with pencil and computer for a while).

I made some textures on tissue paper, and more, for I am about to teach 6-8 year-olds at the Art Center... (more on that to come...)
